CONCACAF Champions League 2013


The 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League is the sixth in the history of the CONCACAF Champions League . In the first phase involved twenty four teams , and the tournament champion will qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup 2014 . The quest to become the best club in CONCACAF is performed without the Club Monterrey of Mexico , who had won the three previous titles , but did not qualify for a fourth attempt .

The draw was made in televised form , however , after the transmission Concacaf decided to change the conformation of the groups so that teams from the U.S. and Mexico teams were not in the same group. This change was not televised .

The draw was established for three pools of eight teams each in the draw could not be teams from the same country or teams of Mexico , United States , El Salvador , Honduras , Guatemala and Panama .
In this phase, teams are divided into eight groups of three. Play each other a reciprocal visit , and who accumulates the most points will move to the second phase. In case of a tie in points in the first place , apply the following tiebreakers : 1

    Greater number of points between the teams involved in their respective matchups.
    Best goal difference between the teams involved in their respective matchups.
    Greater number of goals scored as a visitor between the teams involved in their respective matchups.
    If none of the above criteria is useful, will be used to draw.

In the final phase , the eight teams will play in the elimination system to determine the champion. The quarterfinal pairings will be made according to the positions of the equipment as a general table with the results of the first phase. A finalist result of clashes between the 1st and 8th place , and the 4th and 5th place , the other finalist result of clashes between the 2nd and 7th place and the 3rd and 6th place . The meetings will be a reciprocal visit.
